ABSTRACT

Extracellular vesicles (EV) are lipid bilayer vesicles with a diameter of 30-1000 nm secreted by cells or microorganisms, which are abundant in proteins, nucleic acids, lipids and other biological information molecules. Therefore, EV can be used as a carrier, transferring materials between cells. At present, in infectious diseases, EV derived from pathogenic microorganisms could be considered as a double-edged sword, which means it can not only play a negative role in the host′s infection immunity, bacteria′s pathogenicity and antibiotic resistance transmission, but also manifest the advantages in clinical diagnosis and treatment.

ABSTRACT

Metastasis is the main factor leading to the death of patients with lung cancer, and active prevention is the key to improve the efficacy of treatment. Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) play an important role in initiating metastasis. They trigger a series of metastatic cascade reactions at the moment of shedding from the primary focus, and finally colonize and proliferate in the distant target organs. In recent years, the detection technology of lung cancer CTCs has been continuously optimized. It can not only count CTCs, but also identify different subsets. CTCs detection of lung cancer can be used for early screening, the prediction of prognosis after surgery and chemoradiotherapy and the evaluation of curative effect of targeted immunotherapy. Dynamic monitoring of tumor heterogeneity is helpful to adjust personalized treatment plan and achieve the accurate treatment of cancer. Tian Jianhui's research group established the world's first circulating tumor cell line of human lung adenocarcinoma, integrated it into the theory of "positive deficiency and toxin" in the subclinical core pathogenesis of lung cancer, and actively promoted the construction of a specific research platform for lung cancer, in order to improve the research, prevention and control efficiency of lung cancer metastasis.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the effect of denture stomatitis of selective laser melting (SLM) titanium alloy for removable partial denture frameworks.@*Methods @#Twenty patients with dentition defects in our hospital were divided into two groups according to the different methods of creating a removable partial denture framework: the SLM group and casting group. The success rate, placement rate, masticatory efficiency and incidence of denture stomatitis were compared. Experimental data were analyzed with SPSS20.0.@*Results @# The success rate of the SLM framework group was 100.00%, which was higher than that of the casting group (90.00%) (P < 0.01). The rate of framework placement in the SLM group was slightly lower than that in the casting group (P < 0.05). The masticatory efficiency of the SLM group was higher than that of the casting group (0.783 ± 0.030 vs. 0.699 ± 0.037, P < 0.001). The incidence of denture stomatitis (10.00%) in the SLM group was significantly lower than that in the casting group (30.00%) (P < 0.001). @*Conclusion @#SLM is superior to the traditional casting method in mastication efficiency and reducing the incidence of denture stomatitis. This method can meet the clinical requirements, but the accuracy of the long-term stent needs to be improved.

ABSTRACT

Lycii Fructus (Lycium barbarum, Gouqizi in Chinese name) is one of the most popular Chinese material medica and a common ingredient in tonic food. This fruit has been paid rapidly growing attention for its nutrient value and noticeable pharmacological properties. The present paper focuses on the legal resource of Gouqizi and reviews the main research in medicinal field including botanical identification, ethnopharmacological functions, phytochemistry, pharmacological effects, clinic usages, and safety issues. In addition, some issues needed address will be also discussed. We strongly believe that further investigation will deepen our knowledge of Gouqizi and promote the industrial development in the world.

ABSTRACT

Monoclonal antibodies have become an important part of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.Currently chimeric antibody, humanized antibody and fully human antibody are generally prepared by genetic engineering. With constant improvement in the antibody preparation technology, the antibody applications are rapidly increasing, especially in the development of antibody medications. In recent years, there have been many significant antibody drugs (such as PD-1 antibody, IL-17 antibody, IL-5 antibody, PCSK9 antibody) for the treatment of various diseases and solved a number of clinical problems. In modern medicine, monoclonal antibodies have become effective diagnostic and therapeutic tools. This article is a brief review of the recent antibody development process, clinic applications and significant antibody drugs approved by FDA.

ABSTRACT

Acupuncture-moxibustion material found instone chamber shows academic value on research of acupuncture-moxibustion in Tang Dynasty and before. In the paper we summarize its medical prescriptions and the existing acupoint application contents. It is considered that its acupoint application is widely clinically used in dermatological department, cosmetology department, ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology departments, paediatrics department, gynaecology department, anorectal department, orthopedics and traumatology department. It achieves remarkable effects in dermatological department, orthopedics and traumatology department. Medical literature ofis a treasure of TCM with distinctive feature and it deserves to be further explored so as to serve the clinic and promote the inheritance and development ofmedicine, such as finding out high effect prescription.

ABSTRACT

Objective: This study was designed to analyze the results from ICP and TCD monitoring in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) in order to further evaluate the clinical significance of noninvasive ICP monitoring with TCD. Methods:The monitoring and measurements with TCD were performed beside beds on the following day of surgery to record the spectral atlas and parameter of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) of suffering side in 32 patients with TBI. The values of ICP were recorded at the same time. The patients were divided into four groups according to ICP. The comparative analyses of results of TCD and ICP monitoring were carried out.Results:(1)Spectral atlas: The spectral atlas of Mild ICP Increase Group showed no visible differences from those of Normal ICP Group.A phenomenon of deepened notch before reaching D peak was found in some cases of Moderate ICP Increase Group while occurrence of single cusp peak and disappearance of S2 peak with decreased diastolic velocity were observed in Severe ICP Increase Group. (2) Parameter of TCD: With the increase of ICP,Vs,Vd and Vm were decreased accordingly with the most significant dropping in Vd while PI and RI were elevated gradually. Conclusion:This study suggests that TCD can be applied to monitor noninvasively ICP and indicate the significant increase of ICP in patients with TBI,but fail to detect mild increase of ICP. Spectral atlas is superior to parameters of TCD in judgment of increased ICP
